Specialist clinics access improvement partnership workshop

Better Care Victoria's Specialist Clinics Access Improvement Partnership 2017-18 (the Partnership) commenced with a two day 'Kick Start' workshop.

The Partnership includes 11 Victorian health services who have been brought together to focus on improving access and patient experience in specialist clinics.

The 'Kick Start' workshop was attended by executive sponsors, medical leads, nursing leads, project leads and administrative leads from each health service, as well as, representatives from Primary Healthcare Networks (PHN) and consumer representatives. This was an interactive design thinking workshop, where participants worked together in groups to explore the specialist clinic experience from different perspectives and establish an aspirational image of what could be achieved.

The purpose of this was to provide a foundation for future work, identifying specific focus problems within individual health services. This 'Kick Start' workshop will now be followed by eight health service-hosted workshops, scheduled over the next twelve months, with a focus on peer to peer learning and collaboration.

Everyone in the room embraced the opportunity to meet colleagues from different health services, readily sharing their experiences and ideas with one another.
